Fed: Queen and Duke to visit Australia in October
Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD has announced that Queen ELIZABETH and the Duke of Edinburgh
will visit Australia in October.
Mr HOWARD says the Queen and Prince PHILIP will arrive in Canberra on October 3 and
leave by October 13.
During her visit, the Queen will open the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting
in Brisbane on October 6.
Both the Queen and Duke will visit Queensland and South Australia, which weren't included
in last year's royal tour.
The visit will come just over a month before the expected federal election.
